Backstreet shed-house
Naaierstraat in historic Gouda
The previous wooden shed was a typological example of the back street buildings behind the historical market square of Gouda. Therefore we decided to keep the shape and materials of the shed, when transforming it from a storage house build half over a parking entrance, into a tiny but comfortable dwelling. Most striking is the inviting open corner, that with its wooden beam structure at the same time gives just some needed privacy to the inhabitants. We added spacious roof extensions, at the back side giving access to a roof terrace.
